In case anyone was wanting to know what where the top 25 most visited posts from 2006 here at P&P, here they are. Let me make a caveat, however. I did not take into consideration any compilation posts (which were off the charts compared to these), conference live-blogging, or photography. Primarily, these posts were my personal commentary.

And here is a brief picture of the past two years @ P&P. This is a graph of unique visitors (the numbers have been cropped).
Just curious since you had a huge spike in readership from 05-06 what do you think caused it? Was it one post in particular which sky-rocketed you to fame? I don’t mean this sarcastically either – I am serious. And curious as to what you think caused your blogging success – here defining success as readership.
William,
I don’t really know that caused the increase in unique readers other than several folks were kind enough to link to my posts, especially the compilation posts. I also think that the Band of Bloggers drew a lot of attention as well as addressing topics that people were interested in discussing.
I am still learning about how to blog and blog with excellence. For what its worth, my readership is down over 50% since moving my blog to WordPress. I am fine with that, meaning that I don’t necessarily write so that I attract more readers. Rather I try to stay true to my convictions and conscience while trying to honor the Lord with what I write. One thing is for sure. The truth isn’t sexy, and what that graph doesn’t tell you is all the hits (by that I mean negative and mean-spirited) I took for saying what others didn’t, wouldn’t, or couldn’t say. The other day I talked to a close brother who was at Urbana and talked to the folks representing SBTS there. They all knew me (mostly because of my blog), but it was clear that they all didn’t like me. But I have to say the encouragement and affirmation I have received from people throughout 2006 was 3 to 1 in support P&P. At various times throughout the year, I especially needed that encouragement.
So in summary, I don’t think it was one post. I think my live-picture blogging had a little to do with it, the topics I chose to address, and the gracious networking and linking of my blog by other bloggers who gave P&P generous exposure. So whatever success P&P has gained is more do to the kindness of other bloggers than anything I have brought to the table.
#1 w00t!
And you know what Alan, I actually updated the links finally. You should be proud of me. 🙂
Quite a year indeed! Much good content.
Thanks Ched!
Correction from my previous comment.
I said, “They all knew me (mostly because of my blog), but it was clear that they all didn’t like me.
I meant to say that not all of them like me (and my blog).
Timmy, I saw that. thanks.
