* The final edition (part six) of the Doug Wilson and Christopher Hitchens debate has now been posted. Here are all six parts: one, two, three, four, five, and six. Or, you can download the entire series in a PDF document by going here.
* John Piper recently spoke at both the Gospel Coalition Conference and the New Attitude Conference. Desiring God has made the audio available for download. Here they are: “The Triumph of the Gospel in the New Heavens and New Earth” (GCC), “Discern What Pleases God–Himself” (NA1), and “Discern What Pleases God–Obedience” (NA2).
* Paul Helm provides his analysis on biblical and systematic theology, which is great timing for those who are taking Dr. Wellum’s class this summer on the subject!
* Speaking of biblical theology, James Gordon recently reviewed Greg Beale’s book The Temple and the Church’s Mission.
* Gary Shavey of The Resurgence has recently interviewed Kevin Vanhoozer. Here is part one and part two.
* Erik Raymond has been writing about ecumenism and biblical unity, something that I believe is an important discussion. Check out his first, second, and third posts. They are well done. Also well done are his blog headers. 🙂
* John Hendryx of the Reformation Theology blog provides his top ten books on piety, sanctification and spiritual growth. This is an excellent list of books, and should appeal to anyone with a passionate pursuit of personal holiness. Similar to this list is another by friend and fellow blogger Joe Thorn. Though some of the books are duplicated, Joe’s top ten list is fantastic as well.
* Nathan Finn writes an excellent piece on SBC Witness about the need of the hour for the SBC. Finn’s analysis and commentary is some of the best stuff on the SBC you will find on the Internet.
* Denny Burk talks about his radio interview with Tom Ascol about regenerate church membership and provides several links consisting of articles as well as audio.
* The Resurgence recently posted an article by Tim Keller entitled, “Advancing the Gospel in the 21st Century Part i: Church Multiplying“. Having been reading and listening to Keller for only about six months now, I am finding that I have a whole lot of catching up to do! Man, he’s got some good stuff.
* Drew Goodmanson discusses triperspectivalism, multiperspectivalism, and other big words. Then he provides a number or posts regarding church leadership and government that are worth checking out.
* Andrew Jones celebrates his 6th blogiversary. Man, this dude has been around for a long time!
* Steve Weaver provides a some great resources and links for biblical commentaries.
* Over at Strange BaptistFire, Andrew Lindsey wrote a response to Nelson Price’s treatment of elders.
* It appears that my post on the whole “celebrity culture” struck a nerve as I noticed that over a dozen other blogs continued the conversation (the post ended up #25 in WordPress’ top 400 posts for the day). One post to point out is by Nathan White who addresses the celebrity culture of bloggers.
* LifeHack points us to 17 Firefox extensions that make blogging easy. They regularly have good, practical tips on becoming a better writer and blogger.
* And lastly, Tom in the Box News Network has informed us that in 2009 there will be a conference that might appeal to one or two of you. It is called the “Together for a Bunch of Other Stuff” Conference.
Bonus: Last Friday’s Sunset:
Thanks for the LifeHack link!
I’d be interested to hear/read your thoughts on Paul Helm’s article on the difference between BT and ST. I’m not sure I understand how his example of the order of salvation supports his claim. But someone who is reading more Biblical theology may better understand what he is saying.
