Tim has a missionary heart for his hometown to love those close to him yet far from God. He is husband to Dusti and father to Nolan, Aiden, and Adelyn - fellow pilgrims to our celestial city.

* They say imitation is flattery right?  Well this guy must like my blog.  His sidebar explanation is even a copy and paste job of the header of my old blog.  Nice.

* Michael Spencer shares about his move back into an SBC church.

* New friend and fellow blogger, Kevin Hash was recently interviewed in a Baptist Press article.  Kevin, it’s great to hear what God is doing down there in Bowling Green!

* Thabiti Anyabwile reminds us that life is but a vapor and asks some great questions to be thinking about.

* Andrew Jones shares his thoughts about An Emergent Manifesto of Hope.  I plan on interacting with about five chapters in the near future.

* Lifehack shows us how to stay on top through the use of feeds

* Dave Cruver recently interviewed Mark Lauterbach whose blog I have always enjoyed with his gospel centered thoughts.

* Jim Hamilton provides his section of a forum on penal substitution which is set to apear in the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology

* Brent Thomas reviews Derek Webb’s latest release The Ringing Bell.

* James White provides some MP3’s of Kim Riddlebarger in a series where he addresses the New Perspectives of Paul.

* Last and probably least, I have taken some time to explore my archives to make some more blog headers.  My blog header dimension is 740×180.  Some of you have the same theme or another with the same dimensions.  If you want to check out my headers, now totaling 65, go to this set or see them in a slide show.  Feel free to use them as you wish.

  1. I think that it is ironic that the top post (5/17/07) on the blog of your “flatterer” appears to be a cut-n-paste of something written by John Piper. He should be flattered too.

  2. Your photography is fantastic! I looked at every header in the slide show and loved them all. My fave is the second one, though. I have a thing for leaves and earthtones. That header is stunning!

  3. Eric, You beat me to it. That was exactly what I was going to say. Also did you notice that he’s had 1100 visitors since November of 2007? Must be a prophet.

  4. Kim,

Thanks for the compliment and letting me know which one you liked the most. I am trying to get a feel for people’s aesthetic tastes while offering different flavors of headers. It’s been fun to scroll through memory lane and bring some of these pictures back in header form. Now, if I can only get back to taking photos regularly . . . !

  5. Eric and Dan,

I saw that post and didn’t take the time to see that it was from DG. I did however see the stat counter marked for November 2007. I have heard of people copying styles or themes, but this is the first time where someone has actually taken my blog name (and by-line) and used them as their own. I want to be nice to the fellow, but I don’t want people to think that we are one and the same (nevermind the plagiarism issue).

  6. “but I don’t want people to think that we are one and the same (nevermind the plagiarism issue”

Is it “One in the same” or “One and the same”? I’m so glad you used that phrase. I’ve never been so sure on the actual wording.

  7. Timmy,

I have a request for your next post on photography. Would you mind explaining the differences between shooting in RAW vs. JPEG format? I had someone mention it to me the other day, but never got a great explanation of what the advantages were for either of them.

    thanks,
    Brandon

  8. Timmy said: My blog header dimension is 740×180.

Timmy, per our last conversation about wordpress stuff, you might be able to modify this size. On my wordpress blog, I made the header much bigger in order to better fit some of my favorite pics. Just a thought.

  9. Nathan,

Probably, but I’ve got the free version of WordPress (.com, not .org), and I cannot edit my code or mess with HTML. I’m just not as cool as you guys. One of these days I grow up out of the elementary principles of the blogosphere. The milk of the internet has too long been a substitute for the meat.

  10. Brandon,

I know it’s a late comment coming, but I will address your RAW vs. JPEG question soon. I can’t guarantee anything spectacular, but I think it will help. A little. 🙂

  11. I anonymously posted a comment on your imitators’ site and gracefully informed him that it seems apparent that he copied your site name and notation. I didn’t know if it was going to fall on deaf ears, but I went to his site today and he did take it seriously, by creating a new site. Although he left his old site up, I think it was a step in the right direction. It might have been a little better if he had exhibited a little humility as to the reason why he created a new site rather than simply saying “he’s going through a lot.” However, I do at least give him marginal credit for the resolution.

  12. Mark,

I saw that yesterday. Thank you. I didn’t see the comment as I believe it was deleted. In any case, I hope his new blog goes well. I just didn’t want people to be confused with him and me since he took my blog name and description but was saying very different things.

Again, I appreciate your initiative and willingness to do that for me.
