Tim has a missionary heart for his hometown to love those close to him yet far from God. He is husband to Dusti and father to Nolan, Aiden, and Adelyn - fellow pilgrims to our celestial city.

These are some pictures of my niece and nephew that I uploaded yesterday (see more). It is so wonderful to see how much they love one another at such an early age (no staging of the photos here). My wife and I are so blessed to have such wonderful parents and siblings. Sitting back and looking at these pictures make me mindful of everyday gifts that I so often take for granted.

Speaking of siblings, my brother’s birthday is right around the corner, and this year I thought I’d get him something a little different. So yeah, I created a blog for him. He recently started the nurse anesthesia program at Samford University, and he made it know to me that he was looking for a way to facilitate discussion while providing a forum for others to interact. So while there is no content on his blog yet, give him a visit. He could use some hits.

Something terribly bad happened recently. Really bad. I have two external hard drives for backup: one for photos and the other for my laptop files. Somehow the external hard drive got bumped/dropped while spinning, and the hard drive is no longer being recognized by my computer. This summer I was in the process of making multiple back-ups for my photos/files, but due to the excessive amount of work in June, I was left with very little extra space. Therefore, I was forced to place all my photos prior to May 2007 on the external hard drive (some 200,000+ photos – 160GB). Anyway, at this point I cannot access these photos. My only option is data recovery at this point. Ever done that before? Yeah, try $1500.00. Ouch. It seems that I cannot avoid technical breakdowns (my last laptop was stolen at church; this one broken down for four months last winter). I am still waiting to hear word on the diagnostic test to figure out what to do.

On a positive note, my wife and I watched The Bourne Ultimatum last night and absolutely loved it. The Bourne trilogy has to be the best series of movies I have seen in a long time (if not ever). Man it was good. Nolan wanted me to tell you he enjoyed it too. I did make the observation to Dusti that every movie preview was centered on violence, killing, terrorism, and war. I found that telling of our times.

School is starting back in just over a week, and I plan on sharing some of my blog plans for the remainder of the year sometime soon. While I will not be blogging less, I will not be able to interact as much as I would like in the comments due to greater demands on my time. I do appreciate the conversation and feedback, and while I may not be able to respond to everything in the future, your thoughts and contribution to the discussion is really appreciated.

Coram Deo.

  1. Tim,
I’m glad Nolan liked the Bourne Trilogy. You’re doing well by teaching him early on the good stuff. I started from day one in the womb with Maddie, Libby and Emmy on who to chear for in sports (Mets and LSU) and who NOT to chear for (Braves, Yankees, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia). Keep up the work, man. You won’t see the fruit of your pre-natal teaching right away (my girls don’t show any inclination towards the Mets and LSU, much less any other team), but you will one day!

By the way, Maddie says hey …. wait, she just said not to tell you hey. Sorry!

  2. Tim,
Hey stranger! This is Jenny Lucas…now Jenny Cook. Just wanted to let you know that I ran accross your blog a few months ago and have enjoyed it very much. Congrats on getting married and now a baby on the way. I too am married and we have two sons. I would love to catch up with you sometime. It sounds like we have some new mutual friends. Anyway, just wanted to say hey.
    Blessing,
    Jenny

  3. Jenny,

Wow! Indeed it has been a long time. Thanks for reading the blog. Do you still keep in touch with Traci? Good times (except for the cat part). I enjoyed looked at the pics on your blog. Please do keep in touch (and join Facebook if you haven’t already!).

I would be interested in knowing more about the “mutual friends” part. 🙂
