This morning Abraham Piper provides a link to the personal and ministerial accountability form which all pastors of BBC fill out weekly. I have been a part of accountability groups which we had similar accountability questions, though there are some in this form which I like that I had not considered. In recent years, I have been trying to draft up a series of questions that I should be examining myself with on a regular basis.
So what do you think about Piper’s accountability form?
Do you have any questions or issues that you particular like? That you would add?
On another note, Mark Driscoll shared this morning that he had the opportunity to spend some time with Piper, Justin Taylor, and David Mathis. Here is what Driscoll shared:
Dr. Piper explained that he was in the midst of finishing his latest book which will critically examine N.T. Wright’s new perspective on the doctrine of justification. He said the project has required an enormous amount of research and is proving to be an intense book to write. To make matters more difficult, his computer crashed which cost him a few days of work. Next Tuesday he will begin the final week of writing the manuscript and selecting a title. I asked Dr. Piper if he would mind if I got the word out to those of us who have appreciated his work that the May 29th through June 5th would be a strategic time to intercede for him in prayer. He said he would appreciate prayers as he believes this book is very important for the defense and articulation of the gospel of Jesus Christ and has come with some indications of spiritual warfare. So, on behalf of Dr. Piper, your intercession during his upcoming writing days would be greatly appreciated.
I think it would be safe to say that the overwhelming majority of you who read my blog have also read something Piper has written, either in book or sermon form. Let us make it a point to remember him in prayer during this time. Some of you may remember that it was this time last year he was completing a rough draft version of his critique of Wright which was prematurely criticized by those who had not read a word he had written. But Piper has never backed down, whether it was Open Theism, inclusivism, annihilationalism, abortion, Calvinism, etc., and I don’t expect him either with NPP. May God give him charity and courage, grace and perseverance in his labors for the gospel and the glory of God.
Lastly, Driscoll also shared that The Resurgence video crew interviewed several men including Piper, Tim Keller, D. A. Carson, Ligon Duncan, and Ray Ortlund. The interviews will be made available for free once they are edited. Also, be looking for a new confession under the leadership of Carson/Keller to be made available on the Gospel Coalition website once the conference is over. Really exciting stuff!
Thanks for these resources bro.
