Hopes for Greensboro

Tim has a missionary heart for his hometown to love those close to him yet far from God. He is husband to Dusti and father to Nolan, Aiden, and Adelyn - fellow pilgrims to our celestial city.

Florida Baptist Witness recent asked the following question to 15 SBC “leaders and activists”:

“What do you hope will be the single, greatest outcome of the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Greensboro?”

Included in the 13 are Tom Ascol, Wade Burleson, Steve McCoy, Marty Duren, and Ben Cole. Interestingly enough, of the 13 questioned, eight of them have a blog. What does this say about blogging? What are the other five doing without a blog?

If you look at the answers, I think you will see two different strands (one calling for repentance and brokenness for spiritual pride, and the other unity and personal agendas.

Of course, whoever gets the last say makes a lasting impression, and I think Steve McCoy nailed it when he said, “My second greatest hope is that the shofar won’t work.”
