Tonight, I am on my way to Owasso, Oklahoma to attend my first ever National Founders Conference. Needless to say, I am really looking forward to this week, especially since it is the 25th anniversary of Founders Ministries. The theme is “God’s Truth Abideth Still: Confronting Postmodernism.” David Wells will be the keynote speaker and will be delivering three messages during the conference (here is the schedule). Last year, I did a little homework on Wells before the 2006 Desiring God National Conference. In this post, I compiled as much bibliographic material I could find as well as some Internet links to materials, resources, and media.
A couple months ago, Tom Ascol asked me to live-blog the conference, and I gladly agreed to do it. I will do my best to provide a synopsis of each message along with a little personal commentary with each message. In the past, I have provided a lengthy transcript of each message, but this time I am going to try a different and more personal approach. In addition, I am planning to provide photos of the conference which you will be able to access by going to this set. I also hope to post three photo bundles for each day of the conference.
Along with the great messages, I am looking forward the fraternal kindredness of like-minded men committed to the gospel and the local church. I have already talked to Joe who will also be attending. If you happen to read this and will be at the conference, please let me know either via comment or email. I would love to meet you in person. Please stay tuned this week for a flurry of live-blogging, photos, and commentary. Lord willing, it will be a fantastic week.
Hey Timmy-
I’m looking forward to seeing you again here in OK! Have a great trip!

Timmy:
I attend Bethel; looking forward to meeting you and all of the Founders Conference attendees. We’re excited to have you here this week.
My son (Isaac) and I plan to be there for the Wend. morning service.

25 years already? I remember when it was still considered quite “novel” that there was a group of “Southern Baptists” who hold to the Doctrines of Grace/Calvinism/Reformed theology! That was while we were attending DTS–where at the time there were a good number of SBC students discontent with the SBC seminaries. My, how things have changed and God has moved among His people!
Had hoped to attend some of the evening sessions (we live in the Tulsa area) with my husband, but circumstances have changed. VERY much looking forward to your live blogging and pics.
Becca,
Just made it in Owasso (2:45 p.m.). I’ll be looking for you.
Keith,
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you.
Connie,
I hope to do a decent job of covering the events of this week for you and others who could not attend. It should be great.
Lynn,
I hope to meet you and your son Isaac tomorrow!
