If you are like me and have not read all the GCR articles coming out, you might not be aware of all the conversation around the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force (GCRTF) of the SBC. Doug Baker, editor of the Baptist Messenger of Oklahoma, sat down with the chairman of the GCRTF, Ronnie Floyd, to address the issues and questions that have been raised in recent months. If you are limited in time, I would argue that it is better to listen less to the political pundits in the SBC media and focus more on what the task force is saying both in their final draft as well as other first-hand sources. Here is a 45 minute video interview with Baker and Floyd that is worth your time. Check it out.

Ronnie’s gonna regret that jacket choice.
Have you read Morris Chapman’s concerns? What are your thoughts?
I think Ronnie Floyd is absolutely correct in his assessment of the critical moment (the crossroads if you will) in Southern Baptist History we are now at…
It is not just the future of the CP and the funding percentages to be kept by the State Conventions we have ask the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force to address in its Report. No, it is nothing less than the future of the SBC for an entire generation we are asking these men to address.
After listening to this interview, I am more optimistic than I have been in quite some time that we do have leadership in the SBC that “get it”… and that are capable of plotting a course forward for the SBC. I just hope that the majority of the messengers to the convention “get it” as well, and understand what is truly at stake with their vote!
Grace Always,
