Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 || Part 5 || Part 6
I started a new series on Twitter several months ago, called “50¢ Word(s) of the Day”. Here’s the seventh installment from this past week:
Monday: emperichoresis –> mutual interexistence or inexistence (where we get the theological term perichoresis re: Trinity)
Tuesday: frui –> to enjoy something or someone for its own sake, as an end in itself (enjoy God for being God)
Wednesday: lex praescribit, evangelium inscribit –> the law prescribes, the gospel inscribes
Thursday: meritum Christi –> the merit of Christ (term used in view of the obedience of Christ applied to the believer)
Friday: paedagogus ad Christum –> guide to Christ (the law, cf. Gal. 3:24)
Saturday: obiectum fidei –> object of faith (Christ, as He is revealed in Scripture)
Good stuff. I just wish I knew how to pronounce the words so I could actually use them. A pronunciation key would be useful, perhaps?
