I started a new series on Twitter this past week, called “50¢ Word(s) of the Day”. Here’s the first installment from this past week:
Sunday: membra ecclesiae militantis – members of the church militant
Monday: Crede, ut intelligas – Believe in order that you may understand (Augustine on belief & reason)
Tuesday: coetus fidelium –> the assembly of the faithful (term used to describe covenant community)
Wednesday: Evangelium est Deus absolvens et Iustificans –> the gospel is God absolving and justifying
Thursday: gratia Spiritus Sancti applicatrix –> the applicative grace of the Holy Spirit (regeneration)
Friday: cor incurvatus ad se –> the heart curved in upon itself (Luther on heart idolatry)
Saturday: analogia fidei –> analogy of faith (Scripture interprets Scripture)
